Pads had claimed that he couldn't run, only jog - at best. In fact, I would probably call it fast striding; after a day of jobs I finally left the study for the park where we all enjoyed a little cricket, rugby and football. All of this was pretty gentle apart from when Bo was getting used to the rules of '3-and-in' footie: i.e. no handling the ball, no brutality towards other players. One particularly cynical challenge ended with Pads downed, which was a dreadful moment. However, he composed himself, brushed himself down and carried on.
No more news on the '2nd opinion' histology yet. A social worker visited yesterday to inform us about all the help we could get as a family coping with cancer. I cant go into details now but it was pretty amazing. Ash said, 'I know it's not nice you being ill and that but.., thanks' :-)
We've been reading Genesis in our family worship in the mornings. I usually try and meditate on it before we get to the table. Sarai was being impatient for the promise of a child, so she gave her handmaid, Hagar, to Abram to get things moving. This was a serious wobble and the implications of it were huge. It shows just how vulnerable and frail we are to our own 'good ideas', doubts etc.
