Pads was pretty brave for his chemo which was administered by Jane, the specialist brain tumour nurse, at home through his port. He didnt have or need any pain relief for the needle even though he was quite worried about it. There was more of a yelp when the needle came out actually - it's slightly bent.
In conversation we were discussing side-effects and she was able to remember at least one other person who's been through radiotherapy and who is now studying at degree level. It was very different not so long ago though - especially before the chemo was combined with radiotherapy. Over the last few years it has become apparent just how damaging the older regimes of radiotherapy were.
There is a lack of photos on here at the moment because he's nervous about me pointing a camera in his direction. He points at me with his upside-down smirk/smile, saying, 'nasty maaaaannnnn!'. But I just shoot away anyhow, promising not to blog them and that he'll value them in the future.
