very disturbed night again
Pads and Ally had a very disturbed night, watching 'Cool runnings' and pacing the corridor. He's getting in the bath now because he can finally do it - it's the only thing that soothes it really. He's had slightly more aggresive laxitive which equals even greater cramping in the tummy. So there's still no sign of him getting out of hospital today: no movement in the backed up concrete in his guts. Pads got a referral to the dietitian but the resulting combination high-calorie juice drink plus movicol was so wretched that he found it utterly repugnant. He bravely fought down 150ml (of the 400ml) but 50ml was soon coming back up. We're looking forward to looking back at this particular episode...

I guess that Pad was prescribed with a stimulant laxative. Has he managed to open his bowl? I don't want to sound harsh, but in China, under these circumstances, phosphate or saline enamas would be administered after osmotic laxative macrogols(movicol)failed. I think it is more effective and has less side effects than going for stimulant laxatives.
Thanks for your comment there Lillian - the only thing is that he's Neutropenic so they have to be very careful about how much rigor they apply to his guts - gotta dash to the door a mo...
