scraping along the bottom

Pads is feeling pretty low. He's taking a while to get used to the NGtube - wont drink much and wont consider eating. Last night his siblings went in to see him for a while and, as they watched the telly with him, he was a bit shirty if someone talked or nudged him. The nurse was showing me how to attach and start his feeding pump off, but when it came to having his medication via the tube he was keen to do this himself, so he's already 'enjoying' some advantages (i.e. not having to swallow medicines).
