concerns on the horizon

The weather here today has been stunning, enough to lift anyone's spirits. After a pretty normal day, Pads finished it thinking about the week ahead. He's got a kidney function test on Tuesday (involves two needles) and will probably have another tube fitted. If his health holds up as it currently is, he should be in school on Wednesday - a thought which filled him with dread from the one or two he can count on to poke fun at the sparse bits on the back of his head (from radiotherapy). Even just one word will be upsetting. I tried to reassure him with, 'sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof'. But he is going to have to face up to these fears - hopefully he will be stronger for it, rather than embittered.
