Bulk-buy Lucky Stars raises a smile

Calligraphy for Celine & Bevis
Pads has been busy with more calligraphy... This one was for Celine, who leaves us soon to live back in France :'-(

It's been a great day - even if it feels a bit like the calm before the storm. We're hoping that the operation on Tuesday is going to be fairly routine and that the results of the lumbar puncture will be fine, but...
In the midst of this, we take comfort from hymns like Horatius Bonar's which Pads has regularly been referring to after we sung it this morning in church (273 in our new hymnbook):

O heavenly love, how precious still,
In days of weariness and ill,
In nights of pain and helplessness,
To heal, to comfort, and to bless!
The pastor's sermon this morning, from Philippians 1:21, 'for me to live is Christ, to die is gain', was exceedingly precious and helpful... The environment, populace, and presence of the Saviour himself, was contrasted between this life and the next. It left many of us with a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.
