Final dressing removed from the previous surgery

From early estimates, it was just a two hour chemo infusion today, get the Hickman line dressing off and away back home. Easy. Er. No. He walked about 1/3 of the way to the hospital and rode the rest of the way, feeling too ill to accept offers to travel by car. The time went by without much incident until we discovered that the Hickman line dressing had been trussed up good and proper. The surgical staff must have had their reasons, but the Hickman line was tied down with lots of tape and it was very awkward and painful to remove. It easily took 90 minutes, for a significant bit of that P was sobbing or yelping. Thankfully, the day calmed down significantly for him after that.
