'Slightly bonkers' - thanks John

Open 'letter' to John Humphrys, who sniped at people like me this morning in the closing moments of the today programme (click to listen - fast forward to 2:55 - only available until 7th Feb):

Dear Mr Humphrys,

I am emailing to point out that your parting shot this morning was pretty insulting to vast swathes of intelligent people who simply do not share your opinion that Darwin's theory of evolution is 'fact'. He did not even begin to explain the very title of his book - The Origin of Species - it does not deal with origins! This is yet another example of 'Christianity bashing' on the BBC, which was once a founding pillar of your organisation. It is extremely unlikely that you would rubbish any other religious opinion in the way that you do for Christianity. It is very ironic to hear you talk in terms of the 'highest tech' instruments being his eyes and brain - far more complex than anything else available to scientists today and yet you would think it genuinely bonkers to hear talk of the most intricate instrumentation appearing by chance. You just cannot admit the possibility of God creating the heavens and the earth. Usually this is because individuals cannot bear the thought that they are accountable to God for what they have done with the life He has given. Judgement awaits you. God is gracious though: forgiveness and repentance is still your best open option. Do not leave this life without making your peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.

'For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes on him should not perrish, but have everlasting life.' (John 3:16)

Best wishes,

Mike
