This one was taken of Pads and myself with Pen-y-fan in the background. We took the bus from Greyfriar's Road to Storey Arms, walked up to the top and then beat a hasty retreat. The gale was full of hard snow pinging our faces to the point that Pads started to recite Ps46 through his sobs! We arrived at base, wet but otherwise unharmed, about 9pm. Saturday we walked over to meet up with the rest of the family who were starting a sponsored walk from the Mountain Centre.
I got the idea for doing this from Jim Elliff some time ago - it certainly seemed to do the trick. Now for the other 3 kids!
