So if you caught the tweet earlier you will have read that the Oncologist says the result from his spinal fluid is that it was clear (from last week's lumbar puncture). This is another positive because an absence of the floating cancer cells means it is less likely to be 'on the move'. We're thankful for this significant encouragement. The 2nd opinion on the histology is still to come, which will be the last piece of the jigsaw in deciding his treatment, although this won't affect starting radiotherapy for 33 doses (weekdays - so lasting about 6 1/2 weeks) on 1st October. The chemo may have to be juggled. Anyway, we'll find out more tomorrow when we have to consent to the various treatments and Pads has to do the 'take aim' scan with his mask on - the last thing he said to me tonight was, 'not looking forward to wearing that uncomfortable mask' - fair enough. But, after something of a marathon game of Risk, he was sleepy enough not to need much counselling.
