'well'? at a cost

If you happen to see Pads out and about, it's easy to think that he's quite well. A number of people have said so. The fact is though that, to get to the point of just standing up has taken an awful lot of doing nothing. Yesterday morning he couldnt frame a reply to one visitor, although the person holds no threat, was being very gentle and kind; and Pads was apologising afterwards if he seemed rude, but he just folds in on himself for large parts of the day. If he 'looks well', before you even think about the possibility of him taking something like an hour or two of school on, just picture him curled up into a ball on the sofa in the kitchen, in his pyjamas and dressing gown, facing the wall.
We're looking for signs that he's turning the corner with the last bout of chemo three and a half weeks ago. If this is what he's like after the first dose, having had December off... cant help wondering what will he be like further down the track... Anyway, tomorrow is another day, MRI day, and he always seems to buck up for hospital trips.
