Manorbier

Sorry not to update you recently but we’ve been on holiday in Manorbier. With the postal strikes, it’s a bit of a disincentive to attempt post-cards so I hope this message will suffice. Thanks to our good health we’ve been pretty active. Thanks also to Christian Lewis Trust who not only provided the caravan free for the week but also six tickets for the local theme park, Oakwood. Pads shrank from going on anything ‘big’ except Megaphobia (one of the largest wooden-framed roller-coasters in the world), which he went on five times!
The boys are really enjoying the site pool. There’s no lifeguard and so they can try out all kinds of jumps and dives – great fun! On Tuesday some of us walked to Tenby, about 5 miles including some spectacular Pembrokeshire coastline, and returned to Manorbier on the train. It was Manor House yesterday. It’s a wonderful place, just around the corner from here, with reasonably flat paths for the wheelchair. Visitors can walk into some of the animal enclosures: the limas and wallabies are most enchanting!

Today we went for a stroll around the lily-ponds of Bosherston. Our walk was about 1.5 miles and Pads coped fine. In all our visits to Pembrokeshire we’d not done that – usually opting for the beaches instead. The walk passes the top of Broadhaven South and that’s where the picture was taken.
