Yesterday we had a visit from the team who deal with palliative medicine. They spent a while learning about his history, especially the recent stuff.
The upshot was that they've had a chat with our consultant and agreed to give a boost to Pads' fentanyl patch and a dose of etoposide, a kind of chemotherapy drug, aimed at symptom control.
The 'fentanyl melt' tablet that dissolves under the tongue, which was so effective on Tuesday night, will also be more 'to hand' for breakthrough pain.
I was worried that this was caused by intercranial pressure but the doctors say this is unlikely to be a problem at this stage.
