6

Ash and Moli returned from Scotland today (thanks to Rhys for chaperoning them) and I came back with Bo from a night's camping. We all converged at the LATCH carer's accommodation where Pads was able to hang out, for a 'change of scenery', his infusions having finished for the day. It didn't take all that long for the glee to wear thin with Pads, as the chemo side-effects seem to be starting, including feeling weary and sick. Taking Daktarin gel orally three times a day to help prevent infections getting in that way - it tastes ok but has a consistency similar to petroleum jelly.
The big question at the moment is how well will his kidneys cope with so much toxin to shift. The team are more worried about his fluid balance than the blood counts at the moment.
