Scotland for half term

Ally and the boys have gone to Scotland for half term in the new car. They left last Friday at about 11am and arrived twelve hours later in Conon Bridge, where Ross, Amy and children bide.
Yesterday they went kayaking on a loch near Aviemore. Pads has been in really good form.

My niece Anwen is doing the Oz Experience with The Joshua Foundation and is raising money through a sponsored walk down the Taff Trail. Please sponsor her: see http://www.justgiving.com/aandstafftrail/ (or txt TAFF55 followed by the amount, to 70070.
We stayed at The Joshua Foundation flat in Fishguard. Sadly, this building is still unusable because of damp which will cost a small fortune to put right.

More pain

Ah, but, this time it was 'self inflicted' :-)
On Saturday Pads visited 'Boulders' - the indoor rock-climbing arena. LATCH had organised a brain tumour support group trip there and Pads had excelled himself, getting to the top of at least three rock-faces!
Of course, his body had mostly forgotten it had muscles all over the place, but every one of these are now complaining bitterly so he seems more of a 'crock' than ever!
Many thanks to those of you who have generously sponsored our little jaunt in May - it's very encouraging! I'll leave the justgiving items on the left-hand side of this blog where you can see an up to date total of monies raised.
On another front, he was delighted to get his second 'Blue Peter' Badge, this time it was for his entry into the Queen's Diamond Jubilee emblem competition. Only 100 in each of the three age categories achieved this out of over 35000 entries! His orange badge was accompanied by a Blue Peter Annual and a really nice letter from the team...

Launching the 'JustGiving' pages

So the time has come to launch the JustGiving pages for our sponsored walk in May. We would be honoured if you would consider donating via one or other of these links:
http://www.justgiving.com/bw2011-ChristianLewisTrust
http://www.justgiving.com/bw2011-CancerResearchWales
God willing, five of us will be taking the 100 mile route across the Brecon Beacons, known as 'The Beacons Way' in six days, instead of the normal 8.
I've amended the blog's left-hand panel so that the total raised is clear.
We have been helped by SO many charities, great and small, that it was very difficult to settle on two (the JAM fund recently sent us a generous donation to help fund our Florida trip!), although one would be more conventional. You can read more about the reasons for all of this on the JustGiving pages.
